The TLM Solutions team has put together all of your commonly asked questions and answers in this Resources library.
My ADO balances are not carrying forward correctly.
The starting balance is the ending balance from the previous day. If you run a report for the Current Period or Previous Period then it automatically sets the dates for the full 14 days Monday to Sunday. If you enter dates manually, make sure you always go to the Sunday date instead of only Friday.
I have shifts that I am no longer using and my listing is very long. Can I delete them?
If they have ever been assigned to an employee then they can't be deleted. You can make the shift inactive and then filter the Shifts screen to only show active shifts.
When I try to communicate with the device, I get an error message "The type initializer for 'TLMSolutions.mDeviceInterface' threw an exception."
This means your computer can't find the communication program to connect to the device. Install the dll files found on your installation disk.
How do I set everyone's ADO balance to 0 for the start of a new year?
From the ADO screen, select Adjust ADO. Select all employees, enter the effective date, enter 0 hours, and select New Balance. You can also enter notes to explain the adjustment. These notes will show in the ADO Adjustment History report.
ADO is not accruing for an employee.
Check the employee's ADO Group. That group will have maximum hours set and the system will not allow an employee to accrue more than that maximum.
Everything was working fine until today. When I try to start the software it tells me it is not licensed.
All the license information is stored in the database and the license does not expire. Press the Program Settings button and make sure you are connected to the correct database.
The report is not correct. I just added up all the times and got a different result to the report.
The times on the report are in hours and minutes which can't be added on a standard calculator. You can change the report to show decimal hours in the Settings screen. If you see hours with a colon (:) then that is hours and minutes. If you see hours with a fullstop (.) then that is decimal time. eg. 7:30 = 7.5
I have installed an additional device. How do I get all the employees and their fingerprints copied from the existing device.
From the Devices menu, select Synchronise. This will make sure all devices on your system contain the same employee information.
